This wonderful lyric written by the
late Patsy Beam Shotwell while she was terminally
ill, reminds us all that whatever situation we find ourselves in, we have
reason to give thanks to God. The a capella composition, written for the regional choral
ensemble “Voce” begins with a unison female melody with a rich 4-part male
accompaniment. The melody is then
shared among the parts as the piece builds to a climax and the chorus
exclaims “…and for the greatest gift in all the
world—thank Him today for His love.” |
